Cogeneration means :
Cogeneration is simultaneous on-site production of electric energy and process steam or heat from the same power source (1),
Usually the generation of heat in the form of steam, and the generation of power in the form of electricity. Combined heat and power plants are able to convert a much higher proportion of the energy in fuel into final output. The steam produced may be used through heat exchangers in a district-heating scheme, while the electricity provides lighting and power (2).
